Characterization of virulent Klebsiella variicola recovered from inpatients with intestinal and extraintestinal infections between 1987 and 1999.

Abstract We reported the virulence and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of K. variicola isolates recovered between 1987 and 1999. The five strains of the study were recovered from diarrheal stools and blood and carried several genes related to virulence mechanisms and were highly susceptible to antimicrobials.
