Application of enhanced recovery after surgery protocol in perioperative period of gynecologic surgery

The concept of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol is to make patients′ rapid recovery. The purpose of ERAS protocol is to optimize measures by using a series of evidence-based medical evidence, in order to reduce psychological and physiological stress response of patients, and reduce incidence rate of complications, shorten hospital stays, reduce the risk of readmission, medical costs and mortality. In recent years, the concept of the ERAS protocol has been successfully applied to multiple surgical procedures. Nowadays, ERAS protocol has been applied to gynecologic surgery more and more. For patients underwent gynecologic surgery, ERAS protocol is a safe and effective perioperative management strategy. This article focused the clinical application measures, benefits and future prospects of ERAS protocol in the perioperative period of gynecologic surgery.
