Partial discharge energy measurements on insulation systems and equipments

1988
Equipment for partial-discharge energy measurement is described. The versatility of the computer interface and the various uses of the equipment (energy, apparent charge, integrated charge, quadratic rate, number of discharges) are pointed out. Measurements on insulation systems show that there is a good correlation between life curve and the evolution of discharge power vs. applied voltage. The slope of the life curve can be deduced from the log P vs. log V plot slope. The ability of the equipment to operate in an industrial environment is verified. >
