Promotion of sleep education in Asia: promotion of sleep education in Israel

Israel has no structured sleep medicine courses, rather conducts introductory lectures. A dedicated sleep medicine course given during one semester includes 13 frontal lectures, covering physiological and pathological aspects of sleep at Tel-Aviv University. In other Israeli universities, sleep is discussed under various disciplines such as pulmonology, otolaryngology and internal medicine. The annual prize David Amar was attributed every year to the best original work in sleep medicine, by the trustees Committee of Israeli Sleep Medicine Society. Twenty years of involvement in ASRS activity had significant contribution to the promotion of sleep education in Israel.
