The invention relates to a frequency transient characteristic detector in a superheterodyne microwave analyzer and a frequency transient characteristic detection method. The frequency transient characteristic detector comprises a data memory unit, a power calculation unit, a phase calculation unit, a signal transient frequency calculation unit, a rule comparator and a memory control unit. By way of digital envelope detection, signal power is monitored in real time and compared with a preset signal power threshold in order to judge whether the signal power can meet preset power detection conditions. The phase difference method is adopted to measure instantaneous signal frequency in real time, and the instantaneous signal frequency is compared with a preset signal frequency range in order to judge whether signal frequency change can meet preset frequency detection conditions. The detector is utilized to judge whether the frequency change characteristics of signals can meet preset frequency change characteristics, and store the currently acquired signal data in order to carry out corresponding testing and analysis.
