Thoracic Duct Embolization for Postoperative Chylothorax

2020
Abstract Postoperative high-volume chylothorax is an uncommon but serious complication of thoracic surgery that is associated with high morbidity and high mortality if untreated. Percutaneous thoracic duct embolization (TDE) is a minimally invasive method of resolving postoperative chylothorax without reoperation. TDE is a safe technique associated with minimal morbidity, despite transabdominal passage of the cannulation system.
