The level scheme of 166Dy obtained by double neutron capture

The level scheme of 16666Dy has been obtained from measurements of the gamma rays and conversion electrons from the 164Dy(2n, γ)166Dy reaction. The γ‐vibration bandhead occurs at 857.151(12) keV and the neutron separation energy of 166Dy is 7043.5(4) keV. The results of this work show that, within the systematics of the even‐even Dy isotopes, maximum deformation occurs at N=98 (A=164).
