Content analyses oftheofficial printed programs for the1973 and1983 annual meetings oftheAmerican Public Health Association wereusedtocompare theproportion ofmenandwomen serving asofficers oftheAssociation, members oftheExecutive Board, section representatives totheAPHAGoverning Council, and officers ofsection councils. Thefindings suggest substantial progress forwomeningaining access toAPHAleadership, despite continued underrepresentation inseveral oftheAssociation's highest offices.
