Simulation of the Plasmonic Properties of Gold Nanosponges with Nanotomographically Reconstructioned Models

2019
The plasmonic properties of individual gold nanosponges are very interesting due to their distinct structural features, which combines both 3D and 0D characteristics [1–6]. In order to better understand the structure-property-relation, the optical properties have been simulated with Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method [1–4]. However, due to the complexity of the porous structure, it is very difficult to build a model with the exact same percolated porous structure with mathematic methods, and the models used in literatures [1–4], were simplified and constructed with a large gold sphere etched by randomly distributed spherical air pores.
