Geotextiles in marine engineering

This chapter presents the use of geotextiles in marine engineering applications. Applications covered include marine revetments, basal filters, basal reinforcement, breakwaters, containment dykes and seawalls, protection dykes and reinforced dunes, artificial reefs and submerged breakwaters and miscellaneous offshore use. For each of these applications the geotextile solution is presented along with important performance aspects. Examples of use are also described where appropriate.
