Immunomodulator obtained from cultures of Bifidobacterium breve I-2219. Immunomodulator obtained from cultures of Bifidobacterium breve I-2219 by the following process: (1) the bifidobacterium is used to seed a aqueous substrate at pH 6 - 8 containing the following: lactoserum permeate, lactoserum protein hydrolysate, and lactose, (2) the bifidobacterium is then incubated under aerobic or anaerobic conditions at a temperature between 30 and 40 degrees C, (3) the bifidobacterium is eliminated from the aqueous substrate, (4) the aqueous substrate is ultrafiltered at 100 - 300 kDa to give a concentrate, (5) the concentrate is dehydrated, (6) the dehydrated product is dissolved in a buffer solution, (7) it undergoes exclusion chromatography on a column giving a threshold of exclusion at 600 kDa, and (8) the filtered product is recovered.
