A Comparative Analysis on the Laboratory Indices Suggested by the AHA in Children with Incomplete Kawasaki disease and Sepsis

2012
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance for early diagnosis of the 8 laboratory indices, suggested by the American Heart Association(AHA),in patients with incomplete Kawasaki disease(iKD).Methods Clinical features of total 36 patients with iKD and 45 patients with sepsis(control group) on admission during Jan 1,2006 to Dec 31,2010 were reviewed. The 8 supplemental laboratory indices suggested by AHA were comparative investigated between the two group.Result ①There were no significant differences between the iKD group and the sepisis group in WBC、PLT、Hb level(P all 0.05),but there were significant differences in CRP、ESR、ALB、ALT level(P all 0.05);②About the positive ratio of the 8 laboratory indices, only the ESR positive ratio in iKD group was significantly higher than the sepisis group(80.56% vs 33.33 %,P 0.05),and there was statistical difference in the positive ratio of ≥3 Supplemental laboratory indicess between the iKD group and the sepisis group(P 0.05).Conclusion Being attention to the supplemental laboratory indices suggested by the AHA,are helpful for differentiating iKD from sepsis, would have clinical meaning in the early diagnosis of iKD.
