Application of Miniscrew in Intermaxillary Traction in the Treatment of Jaw Fracture

Objective: To evaluate the efficiency of intermaxillary traction by miniscrew in the treatment of jaw fracture.Methods: 30 cases with jaw fracture were treated with internal rigid fixation,and intermaxillary traction for 7 to 14 days postoperatively.Results: Occlusion of all cases were restored to normal by intermaxillary traction in a short time.24 cases resulted excellent,and 6 cases were good.Conclusion: Intermaxillary traction by miniscrew is effective in the treatment of jaw fracture,and may be accomodate to those who couldn't be treated by traditional dental arch splint.
