Knowledge and Attitudes of Soldiers about Transmission and How to Prevent AIDS

In recent years attention of sexually transmitted diseases Such as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) significantly has increased. Quality of knowledge and attitudes are the main members in offer on time of observation method and prevention effluence of Human Immune deficiency Virus (HIV). During a tour of duty is a best place that can be helped to prevent the spread of the disease. There for, knowledge and Attitude assessment of Iranian soldier can help to assumption healthy behaviors in this age group. So, this study was to examine knowledge and attitudes soldiers about transmission and how to prevent AIDS. This research Study was descriptive that performed on 60 soldiers of a military center by simple random sampling. Data gathering tool, three-part questionnaire that contained demographic questions, questions related knowledge and attitude. For data analysis, SPSS/17 and chi-square test, and ANOVA were used. The results showed that a significant percentage of knowledge (62.4%) and attitudes (67.7%) Soldiers were at moderate levels. The most method learning about transmission and How to prevent AIDS is a use group vehicles and the least method is an educational classes. Average score for knowledge was 18.3±4.05 of 28 and average score for attitudes was 16.5±12.2 of 21. More soldiers have mean knowledge and attitude. By attention to findings of this research, necessity adequate training soldiers about all aspects of AIDS, especially of eliminates invert of AIDS, it seems quite necessary.
