Effect of family nursing intervention on patients with diabetic retinopathy undertaking fundus fluorescein angiography

2017
Objective To explore the effect of family nursing intervention on comfort and adverse reactions in patients with diabetic retinopathy undertaking fundus fluorescein angiography. Methods 104 patients with diabetic retinopathy undertaking fundus fluorescein angiography at our hospital from December, 2014 to October, 2016 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, 52 for each group. The control group were routinely cared and the observation group received family nursing intervention. The comfort of the fundus fluorescein angiography and the life quality scores after the nursing intervention were compared between these two groups. The incidences of adverse reactions in both groups were analyzed. Results The observation group’ comfort was better than the control group’s; 50.00% patients in the observation group had no discomfort and 26.92% in the control group, with a statistical difference (P < 0.05). The incidences of syncope, contrast allergy, and gastrointestinal reaction were 0.00%, 0.00%, and 1.92% in the observation group and were 9.62%, 13.46%, and 15.38% in the control group, with statistical differences (P < 0.05). The scores of distant vision, motion and light sense, adjustment ability, daily life ability, reading and fine work, and life quality were (27.98±4.43), (12.54±3.06), (14.96±5.03), (18.65±3.73), and (73.25±16.21) in the observation group, which were higher than those in the control group, with statistical differences (P < 0.05). Conclusions Family nursing intervention for patients with diabetic retinopathy undertaking fundus fluorescein angiography can effectively relieve the patients’ discomfort, decrease the incidence of adverse reactions, and improve the patients’ life quality.
