Importância da aferição dos dados vitais em indivíduos submetidos à ginástica laboral The importance of benchmarking of vital data in subjects undergoing workplace exercises

2013
Introduction: Occupational diseases cause major losses. The workplace exercises (WE) fits the musculoskeletal system avoiding overloads, limitations and losses and due to be a form of exercise that can cause acute and chronic adaptations, it is necessary to monitor vital data. Pathologies which cause cardiovascular changes may trigger abnormal responses to exercise. Objective: To investigate the acute and chronic effects of workplace exercises on the vital data, blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR), and to assess the presence and frequency of pain, stress levels, satisfaction and anxiety. Methods: We applied WE in 10 subjects, 17-20 years old, for eight consecutive weeks, three times / week, 15 minutes / session, with heating, stretching and strengthening. At the beginning and end of the program, a questionnaire was adapted according to preexisting model to assess physical activity, diseases, drugs, restriction of physical activity, pain, stress, anxiety and satisfaction. There benchmarking data vital initial and final / session. For statistical analysis we used Wilcoxon tests to compare baseline values of BP and HR, the first and last day as well as the values of BP and HR, initial and final / session. To compare stress, satisfaction, anxiety and pain, start / end, we used the chi-square test with a significance level of 5%. Results: There were no changes in vital signs and the other variables. Conclusion: The exercise protocol used did not cause acute and chronic changes in the volunteers. Further studies are needed, targeted at specific groups, with longer duration and higher number of individuals, to check the effects of the practice of WE. Descriptores: Physiotherapy. Health worker. Occupational health program. Heart rate. Blood pressure.
