Design of Microstrip Array Antenna Applied to Traffic Information Collection Radar

A K-band 64-element microstrip double-antenna array applied to Doppler radar front-end of traffic information collection system is introduced.By parallel feeding with design improvements such as reactance compensation and decreasing coupling,this microstrip antenna array meets the requirement of antenna performance and size.The effect of mutual coupling between elements in such an array is included in the analysis.Doppler radar front-end and IF circuits are integrated on the back of double-antenna substrate.The experiments results show that the theoretical and measured results are in good agreement with each other in the working frequency,the return loss is less than-20 dB,the gain is 25.2 dB and half-power beam width is 8.1°degree in E-plane and 6.3°degree in H-plane.The detection of whole Doppler radar front-end is accurate and sensitive in the practical tests.So it's of good practical engineering application.
