TEM and SEM analysis. Due to the strong tendency to form aggregates, MWCNT samples were preventively dispersed in isopropyl alcohol and sonicated. Drops of the obtained solutions were then dropped on a TEM copper grid, covered with a lacey carbon film, or on carbon coated SEM stubs. TEM images were collected by a JEOL 3010-UHR TEM instrument operating at 300 kV and 2 k × 2 k pixel Gatan US1000CCD camera. Figure S1.
