Mild Stimulation Alternatives to Minimal Stimulation

2020
Some patients with diminished ovarian reserve and/or advanced reproductive age may not respond to minimal stimulation for IVF in terms of follicle response or embryo development due to various factors. In such women, one of the mild stimulation protocols can be considered. These protocols are comprised of daily use of recombinant FSH at 150 IU, which is either started shortly after ovulation in luteal phase or following prolonged suppression and estradiol priming after emergence of antral follicles. We will discuss these alternatives in this chapter.
