The effect of floating population on the incidence and detection rate of birth defect

2008
Objective:To explore the effect of floating population on the incidence and detection rate of birth defect .Methods: Retrospectively analyzing monitoring data in 1998-2006 by descriptive statistic method according to previous five-year and later five-year.Results:1. The prevalence rate of birth defect in previous five-year and later five-year is8.82‰及28.05‰ respectively.2. Congenital heart disease ranked in the first places among all birth defects and while neural tube malformation had declined .3.The prevalence rate of birth defect is different between residence population and floating population ,11.65‰ vs 3.41‰(previous five-year),18.17‰vs37.10‰(later five-year)。Conclusion:The percentage of birth defect showed a upstrend in latest ten years accompanied with floating population increasing. Birth defects ,with the highest incidence of congenital heart disease are primary cause of perinatal death.
