DTA studies of the low temperature oxidation of low rank coals

1990
Abstract Differential thermal analyses of reactions between dried low rank coals and oxygen at temperatures of 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 °C show an immediate, sharp exothermic response. The exotherm increases with increasing temperature and is most pronounced for the coal most prone to spontaneous combustion. At temperatures below 120 °C a second exotherm is seen after 15–20 min.
