Successful induction of increased resistance to gram-negative bacteria and to endotoxin in immunosuppressed mice☆☆☆

1974
Abstract Simultaneous immunosuppression in mice, demonstrated by prolonged survival of skin allograft, and increased resistance to an LD 80 dose of gram-negative endotoxins intraperitoneally and to induced E coli peritonitis were obtained by pre-treatment with one intramuscular injection of endotoxin in an oil and water emulsion or increasing serial intramuscular injections of endotoxin in saline and ALS intraperitoneally one day before and two days after applying the skin allograft.
