Chronic daily headaches and the effect of medical treatment. A longitudinal study

2020
Chronic daily headaches (cdh) affect around 3% of French population and are particularly difficult to manage. This article, based on a case study, questions the psychological development of a patient with cdh. Research interviews and two Rorschach were carried out 6 months apart (before and after medical treatment). A very marked improvement in symptomatology was observed. However the results of the Rorschach and the research interviews highlight movements of destabilisation after the disappearance of the symptomatology. Migraine appears to have an important function in the subject’s psychosomatic economy.
