Laparoscopic-Assisted Rectopexy Using a Novel Hand-Access Port

ABSTRACT Many surgeons who were ready converts to laparoscopic cholecystectomy did not translate the technique to more advanced procedures. There are several reasons: increased operating times, a steeper learning curve, concern for oncological efficacy, and the loss of manual tactile ability. As shown with this report on laparoscopic assisted rectopexy, many of these difficulties can be overcome using the Intromit™ while still maintaining the benefits of minimally invasive surgery.
