An overdose of ecstasy. A role for dantrolene.

Summary An overdose of the semisynthetic, hallucinogenic amphetamine 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine resulted in convulsions, hyperthermia, hyperkalaemia and rhabdomoy lysis. The patient's management, which included the use of dantrolene, is discussed.
