The invention discloses a new type high-efficient whirl slug flow catcher, which comprises an entrance flow averaging device, a first class tangent inclined type whirl separating section, a secondary class gaseous phase gravity separation section and a tubular liquid phase buffer storage separating section. The bottom of the secondary class gaseous phase gravity separation section is communicatedwith the tubular liquid phase buffer storage separating section through a gravity separation liquid decreasing communication port and a multifunctional gas-liquid balancing communication port. The invention has the advantages that the entrance flow is averaged, the tangent inlet direction is changed, the internal components are less, the tubular liquid phase buffer storage separating section is used as a separating element and is provided with the secondary gas-phase gravity separation section and the multifunctional gas-liquid balancing communication port, the flashing steam phase at far endof the liquid storage section can smoothly pass through the secondary separating section due to the high joined positions of a gas phase balancing tube and the secondary gas-phase gravity separation section on the tubular liquid phase buffer storage separating section, the gas content of the liquid phase is reduced which is in favor of the liquid phase process of a downstream device.
