Discussion on traditional Chinese medicine treatment strategy of spinocerebellar atrophy

Spinocerebellar atrophy is a kind of genetic disease of the nervous system, with gait disturbance as the first symptom. Professor Han Jinxian treats spinocerebellar atrophy with combination of acupuncture and medicine according to syndrome differentiation, and achieved good clinical efficacy. The multi-needling in rows acupuncture at the three meridians in occipital region(Gallbladder Meridian, Bladder Meridian, and Governor Vessel) mainly regulates cerebellar function. The " Sanjiao Acupuncture" should beapplied to regulate sanjiao, tonify qi and regulate blood, with the selection of point RN17(shanzhong), point RN6(zhongwan), point RN4(qihai), point ST36(zusanli), point SP10(xuehai) and point SJ5(waiguan).
