Effectiveness of PGPR against black scurf disease of potato caused by Rhizoctonia solani

2007
Soil samples were collected from the potato crop raised in Central Potato Research Institute Campus, Modipuram, Meerut. An in vitro test against Rhizoctonia solani indicated that both the antagonists i.e. M-10 and KM-7 are effective in controlling this disease to a great extent. Seed treatment with antagonist M-10 recorded the maximum percent inhibition (55%) followed by KH-7(44%) compared the minimum in control. Increase in germination, shoot length, root length and dry matter production is also noted by using these antagonists as compared to control.
