Endoscopic Approach to Bladder Diverticula

2016
Abstract The bladder diverticulum is defined as a herniation of the bladder mucosa through a flaw of the smooth muscle layer. From an etiological point of view, diverticula can be primary (congenital) or acquired. Currently, therapeutic alternatives include transvesical, extravesical, or combined open surgery, endoscopic approach with fulguration, or resection of the diverticular neck, and transperitoneal or extraperitoneal laparoscopic approach, as well as robot-assisted diverticulectomy.
