Impact of allergic rhinitis on asthma control and lung function

Objective The purpose of the study is to determine the impact ot allergic rhinitis on bronchial asthma (asthma) control and lung function.Methods The correlation between allergic rhinitis VAS score and ACT score,ACQ score,lung function were analyzed in 39 patients with comorbid asthma and allergic rhinitis.Results Allergic rhinitis VAS score had negative correlation with ACT score,FEV1 ％pred,PEF％pred,FEF25％pred and small airway function (FEF50％ pred and FEF25 ％-75％ pred) (P ＜0.05).Allergic rhinitis VAS score had positive correlation with ACQ score (P ＜0.05).Conclusions The asthma patients with allergic rhinitis experienced more poor asthma control and decreased lung function.
