2005
An upstanding turf-banked structure near Glespin, South Lanarkshire, was excavated by CFA Archaeology Ltd in September 2001. Its turf banks incorporated a redeposited Mesolithic chert assemblage. A large pit was found within the structure and charcoal it contained was dated to 410-650 AD. The function of the site was not definitively established. The archaeological investigations and post excavation work were sponsored by Scottish Coal Company Ltd.
