COMPARISON OF GERMICIDAL EFFICACY OF FOUR ANTIBACTERIAL LOTIONS

Objective To study the germicidal efficacy of 4 marketing antibacterial lotions containing Chinese herbal medicines.Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test was used to carry out random sampling examination.Results Fu-Yin-Jie antibacterial lotion and Jie-Yin-Shu lotion containing chlorhexidine acetate 125 mg/L and 702 mg/L respectively and Chinese herbal medicine with a 2 min contact time killed 100% of Escherichia coli.The contact time required for these 2 lotions to kill 100% of Staphylococcus aureus was 5 min and 10 min respectively.Shu-Lian-Shuang antibacterial lotion with a 5 min contact time killed 100% of E.coli,S.aureus and gonococcus.The efficacy of Fu-Yin-Kang lotion in killing these 4 test microorganisms was relatively low.Conclusions The 4 antibacterial lotions containing Chinese herbal medicines has certain germicidal activity,but their germicidal action has no direct relation with chlorhexidine and its concentration.
