Effect of a specific inhibitor of heat shock protein 90 on survival of cervical cancer cells

Objective: To discuss the effect of Geldanamycin(GA)on the survival mechanics in human cervical cancer cells.Methods:Human cervical cancer cell line Hela was used in the study.Cells were cultured in vitro and then treated with GA,Proliferation of Hela cells was analyzed by MTT assay,RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of Bcl-2.Results:GA had the ability to inhibit the survival of Hela cells in a dose-dependent manner.The transcription of Bcl-2 mRNA decreased both in a dose-dependent manner and a time-dependent manner after GA treatment.Conclusion:GA can inhibit the survival and Bcl-2 mRNA transcription in human cervical cancer cell line Hela.
