Observation of change of serum glucose levels in patients with off-pump (OPCAB) or on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OCABG) during the early stage and nursing methods

2009
Objective To observe the change of serum glucose levels in patients with off-pump (OPCAB) or on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OCABG) during the early stage in the department of cardiac surgery of cardiovascular center in Beijing Friendship Hospital, and to explore the change of serum glucose levels in patients with off-pump (OPCAB) or on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OCABG) during the early stage and create the nursing methods. Methods 150 patients who have been taken OPCAB or OCABG the first time were divided into two groups; and a retrospection analysis was done with the serum glucose levels of the two groups being compared and analyzed retrospectively. Results The serum glucose levels measured before operation were elevated postoperative days in the normal patients and the 2DM patients no matter taken OPCAB or OCABG. The serum glucose levels measured right after the operation were higher than any other times obviously in the 2DM patients. However, the serum glucose levels measured after the operation 2 hours were higher than any other times obviously in the normal patients taken OCABG and OPCAB and the 2DM patients taken OCABG. Conclusions Observing the serum glucose levels rigorously in the patients with CABG during the early stage provides safe and credible cure and nursing methods which have already gotten very good effects.
