Measurement of capture gamma rays from the 35- and 53-keV neutron resonances of 23Na
2000
Capture gamma rays from the 35- and 53- keV neutron resonances of 23 Na were measured with a large anti-Compton HPGe gamma-ray spectrometer, employing a Time-Of-Flight(TOF) technique with the 7 Li(p,n) 7 Be neutron source. The numbers of observed primary gamma-ray transitions were 14 and 16 for the 35- and 53- keV resonances, respectively. The partial radiative widths corresponding to those transitions were derived for the broad 53- keV resonance, and the partial capture kernels for the narrow 35- keV resonance. Moreover, the total radiative width or total capture kernel of each resonance was obtained by summing up the partial ones.
