Single-center Experience of Living-donor Liver Transplantation in Patients Receiving Maintenance Renal Replacement Therapy.

2019
Abstract Background For most patients with liver failure receiving maintenance renal replacement therapy (RRT), treatment with living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT) alone is indicated in Japan. Material and Methods We retrospectively reviewed patients who underwent LDLT while receiving RRT in our hospital. Results Three of the 5 patients who underwent LDLT while on RRT died during the first year after transplantation. Conclusions The indications for liver transplantation in patients on RRT require careful examination.
