Student nurses' perceptions of elderly care.

1999
: The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of student nurses towards the care of the elderly. Using King's Theory of Goal Attainment, this experimental study used a convenience sample of approximately 100 associate degree nursing students (ADN) from a nursing program in a southern state. Approval from the dean of the nursing department and IRB was obtained. Kogan's (1961) Attitude Toward Old People's Scale was used to measure students' attitudes before and after their clinical experiences. Student nurses were given the questionnaires during scheduled class time of each program before any lecture content and after content has been given to students.
