2-m chamber of the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics with a neon--hydrogen mixture and a track-sensing hydrogen target

The construction of the 2-m chamber at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics (ITEP) with a filler consisting of a Ne + H/sub 2/ mixture and a hydrogen track-sensing target situated inside the working volume of the chamber is described. Descriptions are given of the system for filling the installation with the Ne + H/sub 2/ mixture and the system for heat exchange and temperature control. The operating regimes of the installation with the Ne + H/sub 2/ filler and the chamber-target system are presented.
