Fertilization and preimplantation development of mouse oocytes after prolonged incubation with caffeine
2004
Background and Aims
Previous studies have shown that caffeine might cause artificial dephosphorylation at threonine-14 and tyrosine-15 of the p34cdc2 catalytic subunit of maturation-promoting factor (MPF), elevate MPF activity in metaphase II oocytes cultured for a prolonged period, and that caffeine decreases fragmentation in oocytes cultured for up to 96 h.
