THE IMPACT OF BONE ATROPHY ON THE STABILITY OF CEMENTLESS HIP REPLACEMENTS IN THE OLDEST OLD. A POST-MORTEM ANALYSIS

2012
Introduction Continual implant stability is an important factor for the long-term success of hip replacements. The increasing lifespan of patients may cause a higher frequency of bone atrophy which may result in implant loosening. This study aimed to evaluate the osseointegration of stems after a long implantation time in elderly patients.
