BPC in liver lesions

2006
A novel substance, colled Body Protection Compound (BPC) was testedagainst different models of hepatic lesions. Different standard models Were used: ligation of bile duct and hepatic artery, restraint stress, and carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)poisoning.BPC has a prounonced beneficial effect on a variety of experimentally induced liver lesions in rats. Relative to liver protection achieved by dopamine agonists the new substance BPC shows even better effectiveness. One of the possible mechanisms of action for BPC could be that of natural scavenger. This is supported by its protective effect in CCL4 poisoning effected in much lower doses than that of conventional scavengers (e.g.vit. E)(micrograms of BPC vs. mg of vit. E)
