Participantes: 30 mulheres; Idade: 30 a 40 anos. ABSTRACT The impact of a nutritional interventioning project and physical activity on cardiovascular risk factors in a group of obese women who were attended at the outpatient clinic of Julio Muller, Cuiaba-MT Objective: Evaluate the impact of a nutritional interventioning project and physical exercises on cardiovascular risk factors in a group of obese women. Methods: Descriptive and quantitative study which has used data from the project “Study of the physical activity associated with nutritional counseling sessions in a group of obese women from class I and II” carried out at HUJM in 2009 for two months. Participants: 30 women; Age: 30 to 40 years old. The variables studied were: Weight, Body Mass Index - BMI, Waist Circumference - WC, Waist/Hip Ratio - WHR, % Body Fat - %BF, Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterol - TC, HDL-Cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Fasting Blood Glucose. To verify the difference between the initial and final averages, the ANOVA, Student t and Chi-square tests were performed. Results: There was a statistically significant difference between the initial and final averages of Weight, BMI, WC and WHR. The difference between the %BF averages was not significant, nevertheless, half of the participants of the study who started in the obesity classification range moved to the overweight or normal range. TC, LDL-cholesterol and Triglycerides presented a meaningful difference. There was not a satisfactory rise of HDL-cholesterol. Conclusion: In that way, the nutritional intervention associated with physical activity is an important measure to fight against obesity, cutting down on the cardiovascular risk factors.
