How to diagnose the condition
2021
Abstract PPCM is a diagnosis of exclusion but should be suspected in any peripartum women with nonspecific or specific findings that could suggest an underlying cardiac condition. Diagnosis of PPCM is centered around electrocardiography, natriuretic peptide measurements, and echocardiography. In some centers, these can be supplemented with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and genetic testing. This chapter summarizes the approach to investigating women with suspected PPCM.
