Negative perception by the community in zakat management towards Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) still occurs despite the LZS performs their duties and responsibilities in accordance to the standard management procedures and performance indicators. This situation probably will led to dissatisfaction that would cause them to pay zakat through informal institution or not paying zakat. LZS has revealed the zakat information to the public through various promotional mediums, but rather that society still views promotional mediums that have been implemented are not suitable and effective for them. The study found that negative perceptions will continue to occur if the gap between the zakat management information accessibility at LZS and society is still enormous. This study also suggests the effectiveness and appropriateness of promotional mediums implemented by LZS should be viewed from the perspective of the community so that all promotional mediums that have been implemented by the LZS has achieved its objectives and targets with justifiable costs spent by LZS every year. The study also found that two-ways medium like promotional roadshows in mosques, lectures and sermons as well as the role of local amil and amil zakat officer in each district was effective and should be duly emphasized. Therefore hopefully all this stategies could reduce the negative perception among the public.
