Atypical or unknown hepatic inflammatory pseudotumor (IPT) can be misdiagnosed as malignant tumor due to the various appearances of its conventional ultrasound and contrast enhanced ultrasound, though it is a rare benign tumor-like disease. It is important to strengthen the understanding of the disease, and combine it with clinical follow-up, which is helpful to reduce unnecessary partial hepatectomy due to misdiagnosis.
