Similarity in the Equilibrium Boundary Layer in Accelerating Free Stream Velocity

Similarity of the near wall turbulence has been investigated in an equilibrium boundary layer under a favourable pressure gradient. The wall shear stress was measured by drag balance, sublayer plate and Preston tube methods, etc. The similarity was discussed using the velocity scale based on the momentum equation. For the pressure gradient parameter of  P =-3.51 3 10  , it was confirmed a modified logarithmic law is applicable in the near wall and the Karman constant is  =0.46. For the streamwise turbulent intensity profiles, it is seen that the normalized profile with the velocity scale shows reasonable similarity in the limited range of -0.008<  P 0.006.
