Database as Part of the ANTARES Data Acquisition Infrastructure

2012
ANTARES is the first undersea neutrino Telescope, operating in Mediterranean sea in its complete design since May 2008. It consists in a three dimensional array of optical modules dedicated to detect the Cherenkov light emitted by high energy muons produced by the interaction of cosmic neutrinos with matter at the sea bed level. Background light from bioactivity, movements induced by sea current and high depth of the site are some of the challenges faced by ANTARES collaboration. To overcome these challenges, ANTARES has deployed a computing infrastructure able to deal with all these constraints. The Database is an important part of this infrastructure, centralizing informations for all other programs of the collaboration. From construction information to environmental parameters, every required information is stored in the Database, using an optimized design for each part of information and each need of the collaboration. I will describe in this document the role of the Database in the data acquisition system.
