Biofilm system kinetics of microbial desulfurization from flue gas

In order to study the flue gas desulfurization mechanism in a biotrickling-filter,the whole desulfurization system was simulated based on the diffusion-reaction model and the plug-flow model.The diffusion-reaction model was described by using the Deep-Biofilm theory and the Monod kinetic equation.The effects of empty tower residence time,SO2 inlet mass concentration,the specific surface area of packings,incremental gas intake and steady gas intake on the SO2 removal efficiency were numerically simulated by Matlab.It shows that an excellent agreement is achieved between the model predictions and experimental data,which proves the rationality of the model and provides a simulation for the practical process of microbial desulfurization from flue gas.
