Mechanical properties of L-shaped column frame combined with shear wall

Abstract Two half-scale frame pseudo-static tests were completed to examine the damage of the test piece, explore its failure mechanism, and evaluate its seismic performance. Test results show that the CFST composite with L-shaped column frame and shear wall structure has good bearing capacity and strong energy consumption. An experimental model was established by using ABAQUS finite element analysis software, and the seismic performance of the structural system was analyzed and compared with the experimental results. Analysis findings show that the finite element agrees well with the experimental results. On the basis of test results and engineering design experience, different parameters were selected for comparative analysis. The effects of term aspect ratio, axial compression ratio, and steel plate thickness on structural mechanical properties were analyzed to guide the actual engineering design.
