Clinical analysis of adult type pulmonary blastoma

2009
【Objective】To study the clinical characteristics, pathological features, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of adult type pulmonary blastoma. 【Methods】The clinical data of 10 cases with adult type pulmonary blastoma pathologically comfirmed were retrospectively analyzed. 【Results】Chest pain (6 cases) and cough with bloody sputum (4 cases) and shortness of breath (3 cases) were the main clinical features. The isolated solid tumor surrounding lung extended to the pleura can be seen in lung CT. The final diagnosis depends on pathological examination by surgical resection or percutaneous lung biopsy. Surgical resection were given in 9 cases and chemotherapy were given in 5 cases. The median survival time was 39 months in this group. 【Conclusion】Due to unspecific symptoms, adult type pulmonary blastoma should be diagnosed and treated with surgical resection and chemotherapy as early as possible.
